Project Story
The bell rings for recess at Watan School, which serves displaced students in the Gaza Strip, Palestine. Notebooks close, and the children spill out of the classroom for the break they’ve been waiting for all lesson. But today, there’s nothing to eat in their schoolbags. With food so scarce, their families had nothing to pack for them. When the bell rings again, the children return to their desks and carry on with the school day, still hungry.
That’s where Meals of Hope comes in. We supply a cheese sandwich and a carton of juice for each student in the program, every school day. Now, when the bell rings for recess, there’s a meal waiting for them and a moment in the day they can look forward to again.
Fuel their school day.
For JOD 7, you delegate us to supply one meal each school day for one school week to two students in Gaza, one boy and one girl.
Each meal includes a sandwich and a carton of juice. The ingredients may vary depending on what is available in the local market.
If circumstances beyond our control prevent us from supplying the meals as planned, Together For Development will take the most appropriate course of action based on conditions and resources on the ground.
